How Pigmentation & Sun Damage Laser Works
Pigmentation lasers work by delivering specific wavelengths of light that are preferentially absorbed by melanin deposits in the skin. The light energy fragments the melanin clusters into smaller particles, which are then gradually cleared by the body's natural immune response. Our clinic utilises Q-switched and picosecond laser technology to treat a range of pigmentation concerns including sun spots, age spots, melasma (with caution), and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Is This Treatment Right for You?

The Consultation & Treatment Process
Detailed skin analysis including assessment of pigmentation type, depth, and distribution
Selection of the most appropriate laser platform and wavelength for your condition
Treatment sessions are typically brief (15–30 minutes) and well tolerated
A course of 2–4 sessions may be recommended, spaced several weeks apart
Strict sun protection is essential throughout the treatment course
Pigmentation Pricing
Pigmentation treatment is highly individual. A consultation is essential to assess the type and depth of pigmentation before recommending a treatment plan.
Your Safety Is Our Priority
Pigmentation treatment requires expert clinical judgement. Dr Adil Sarwar assesses every patient to determine the safest and most effective approach. Incorrect treatment of pigmentation can worsen the condition, which is why doctor-led oversight is essential.
Common Questions
Will the pigmentation come back?
+
Results can be long-lasting with appropriate sun protection. However, pigmentation can recur with unprotected sun exposure. We provide comprehensive aftercare advice including SPF protocols to help maintain results.
Is it suitable for melasma?
+
Melasma is a complex condition that requires careful assessment. Some forms may respond to laser treatment, while others may be better managed with alternative approaches. Dr Sarwar will assess your specific condition during consultation.
What does the treatment feel like?
+
Patients typically describe a brief snapping sensation with each pulse. The treatment is generally well tolerated without anaesthetic, though cooling is applied for comfort.
